Further practice in fashion design translation includes toiling, fabric development and sample making, CAD, fashion business and marketing, including short work placements with designers or in a variety of companies. Contextual studies include social history of the style of a set post-war period or a modern art history theme.

In the third year the student's signature fashion style is developed in both portfolio and as collections in the first semester modules. Further research sourcing and design development leads to a catwalk collection.

A diffusion collection is developed from this with costings and a marketing strategy. Written course work includes either an in-depth research dissertation or a fully illustrated fashion report. All third year students may visit the designer collections in London and Paris as part of the course.

The BA Fashion Design is a dynamic course selecting only about 36 of the most dedicated and driven students who can demonstrate they have the potential to work with the high energy and creative dynamism this requires.
