Fashion Industry Links

Many of the fashion modules in the second year of the course are taught in conjunction with a fashion industry partner to ensure that students gain an understanding of all aspects of the fashion marketplace.

Students have undertaken design projects for companies such as ASOS, Abercrombie & Fitch, Ben Sherman, Topman, River Island and Coast. Some of the students work has also gone on to go into production and sold in stores across the country. 

Second year students have recently undertaken a design project in conjunction with ASOS for which they have deisgned a designer capsule range. This has sience gone on to be sold on the ASOS website in the the summer of 2012.

Students are also encouraged to enter competitions and Westminster students recently won the Warehouse design competition and the Harrods design competition for the second year running.

We also have an industrial advisory panel made up of top industry representatives from some of the top international fashion companies and designer brands.

Finally we have a number of visitors from the fashion industry and studio visits where students visit top designers in their studios to see first hand the design process up close.

Recent visitors to the course include Aitor Throup, Hannah Marshall, Richard Nicol, Angela Buttolph, Todd Lynn, Carrie Mundane, Basso & Brooke, Preen and Sophie Dean.
