Aimee Determann selected to show at Modebelofte during Dutch Design Week

Aimee Determann who graduated from the BA Fashion Design course at Westminster in June this year has been selected to show her collection as part of Modebelofte during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven this month.

MODEBELOFTE, meaning ‘fashion promise’, is an international platform for fashion talent that seeks to further develop the industry by presenting fresh perspectives and stimulating interdisciplinary collaborations.

Each year, Modebelofte realises a surprising exhibition with a selection of fiercely innovative new fashion talent, freshly graduated from international BA and MA courses during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.

Modebelofte’s theme for 2017 - ”Digital Realists” - proposes a down to earth and hands-on embrace of the digital age as the new normal. The 18 Digital Realists on show in this exhibition flawlessly combine on and offline modes of research, design and production, synchronising traditional and artisanal techniques with advanced computing and - often experimental - digital technology-driven options. They explore questions like ‘What if we could see each atom as a 3D version of a digital pixel?’ and ‘Can we still separate the real and the digital world as two separate spheres of existence?’

From 21 - 29 October 2017, in the abandoned V&D department store in the city centre of Eindhoven, the visitors can admire their ingenious creations ‘in real life’ and... they can also virtually wander around in the ateliers and dreamworlds of the participating international talents.
